Patchbay Voice talks only to a server you run yourself.
Patchbay Voice is a client for a server that you install and operate yourself, on macOS or Linux. Synodic runs no service for this app, receives none of your data, and has no ability to see your sessions, your audio, or your code.
What leaves your phone, and where it goes
When you hold the microphone button, the app records audio and sends it to the server address you entered in Settings. That server is yours. The audio is transcribed there and passed to your coding agent. Nothing is routed through Synodic.
- Audio is captured only while you are holding the mic button, and is sent only to your configured server.
- Transcription happens on your server using faster-whisper, locally. Audio is not sent to any third party by the app.
- Spoken replies are generated on your server. If you configure it to use macOS speech, nothing leaves your server. If you choose to configure Google Cloud text-to-speech, your server sends the reply text to Google under your own account and terms.
- Conversation history is stored on your server, under your control. Deleting a session removes it there.
What stays on your device
The app stores only your own settings on the device: the server URL, an optional access token, and your preferences (model, voice, speaking rate, save path). This never leaves your phone except as the requests you send to your own server.
No analytics, no tracking
Patchbay Voice contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising frameworks, and no third-party trackers. The only network calls the app makes are to the server address you configure.
Permissions
- Microphone is used solely to capture audio for a turn while you hold the button. It is not accessed at any other time.
